Started the day in Formulary Management. Talked with physicians about
drug therapies that are appropriate for patients and still hold down costs
for clients.
When I think about my first job out of school at one of the large retail
chains, I realize what a long way I've come from doing endless paperwork
and selling shampoo. During those years, I believe I actually lost sight
of why I'd become a pharmacist. Now I'm counseling patients, working with
doctors, and analyzing drug therapies. What a change!
At Medco Health, I am able to dedicate a portion of my day to a particular
function, like drug utilization review, while rotating through other functions
that change from day to day. This keeps me on my toes and I'm never bored.
