Welcome to the Medco Health Solutions, Inc. Pharmacy Practice Residency Program! The program is a unique opportunity to learn about pharmacy benefit management (PBM) and is jointly accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). The variety of rotations and educational experiences will provide a complete picture of PBM activities and the clinical elements driving key decisions in a managed care company. This residency training will allow you to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to assume an integral role within a managed care pharmacy setting.

The Medco Pharmacy Practice Residency began in 1997. Since then the program has expanded and has received accreditation from two of the nation's leading professional pharmacy organizations.

The growth and expanding influence of managed care in the health care delivery system has led to an increase in the development of managed care pharmacy practice residency programs. The Medco Pharmacy Practice Residency is one of the most well established managed care residency programs and continues to have the full support of the Medco Management Team. Our expanded residency program will once again offer two residency positions for the 2006-2007 year. Although the program is designed with the resident in mind, it also provides us with a great opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to education, training and development of health care professionals.
