Vision Plan

Medco's vision plan benefit is offered through Vision Service Plan (VSP), one of the nation's leading providers of vision benefits. VSP's primary purpose is to promote wellness through a comprehensive eyecare program. The plan is designed to provide for periodic eye examinations, as well as other services and corrective eyewear, in order to address the patient's visual needs. Single vision, bifocal, trifocal, lenticular lenses (glass or plastic) and contact lenses are covered, when necessary, for the patient's visual welfare.

Detailed materials related to this benefit are available from your local Human Resources Department. If you select this benefit, the first time you or a covered dependent require vision care, simply call a VSP participating doctor for an appointment. The doctor's office will verify eligibility and process all paperwork.

All you pay is the copayment for the covered services provided, unless you seek services or materials not covered under the plan.In that case, the patient is responsible for those fees. VSP pays the participating doctor directly in accordance with their agreement with the doctor. If you do not wish to obtain services from a VSP participating doctor, services may be obtained from any licensed optometrist, opthamologist and/or dispensing optician. After services are obtained (and paid for by the participant), the itemized bill is submitted to VSP for reimbursement in accordance with the non-participating provider reimbursement schedule.
